OUR STORY

Back in 2007, CCM was just a handful of people meeting in a living room. Now we are starting lots of new churches in Manchester. We currently have five meetings in four locations, and are about to launch our sixth.

OUR VISION

At Christ Church Manchester, we love our city and we want to make a difference.

Our vision is to plant loads of new churches across Manchester that are characterised by:

When we talk about the culture of our church, it is another way of saying ‘the way things are done around here’.

There are seven key components of the culture of our church.

SUNDAYS

We are a multisite church in Manchester, and at the moment we have five meetings every Sunday in four locations (Fallowfield, Withington, Burnage and Gorton), and we are preparing to launch in the City Centre.

Whilst each of these meetings carries the CCM vibe, they are all different and reflected the areas they are based in. Each meeting includes a brand new live preach, and worship from a band based at that site.

We are a Christian church who hold to the authority of the Bible in our life and teaching, and who welcome the work and presence of God through his Holy Spirit in our midst.

We believe that the Evangelical Alliance Basis of Faith provides an accurate summary of the teaching of the Bible, and as a church, this is our Statement of Faith.

LEADERSHIP

At CCM we believe in team leadership. The senior leader of the church is Colin Baron, and he is assisted in this by a team of elders who lead the church in spiritual matters and a team of trustees who lead in legal matters.

Most of the leadership that you will experience on a day-to-day basis will come from the site leaders who head up the team that leads your particular site. At the moment, Tim & Vicki Simmonds lead our church in Burnage, Andy & Elisabeth Brownlee lead our church in Withington, Andy & Victoria Armstrong lead our church in Gorton, and Dave & Emily Williams lead our church in Fallowfield. The new church in Manchester City Centre is led by Tom & Emma O’Toole.

Christ Church Manchester is part of the wider church of all Christians across the world, and we are priveleged to have built relationships with other churches as we build God’s kingdom.

There are lots of great churches in Manchester, and we partner with those churches wherever we can to help reach our city. We are also part of the Catalyst Network of churches that includes churches in many different countries that support and pray for each other.

In addition, we have built relationships with charities such as the Oasis Centre and Boaz Trust, student groups like UCCF, Fusion and Just Love Manchester, and with civic authorities who are also working for the good of our city.
