COMMUNITY GROUPS AT CCM
Community groups are a key part of the life of our church, and are a great opportunity to go deeper, to make new friends and to have a lot of fun.
WHAT ARE COMMUNITY GROUPS?
One of our key values as a church is community, and we think it is really important to build friendships and relationships in the church that go beyond Sunday services. One of the key ways this happens is through our community groups.
Community groups are small groups of people who meet up each week, usually in a home (or occasionally in a public space like a coffee shop), and spend time chatting, drinking tea, eating cakes, and helping each other grow in their faith. It is a place to feel at home and will help you to quickly grow in your faith and build lots of friendships within the church. Community groups are open to all, whether or not you would call yourself a believer, and whether or not you are able to attend Sunday services at CCM.
Community groups meet each week on one midweek evening. The groups do not follow a rigid program, but they will usually include the following elements:
- Food – Depending on the group this might be having meals together or putting on a nice spread of cakes and coffee – either way we think eating together is very important and this is a part of how we do our groups.
- Chat – There will usually be a good amount of ‘unstructured’ time to just get to know people and chat about whatever is going on in life and the universe right now.
- Bible Study – One of the purposes of the group is to go deeper in faith, and part of this is opening the Bible together, reading a passage and sharing thoughts on what God is saying through it and what it means for us today.
- Prayer – Community group is a great time to support each other by prayer. There is no obligation to pray, but you are very welcome to pray or to receive prayer if you like.

HOW TO JOIN ONE
All of the CCM community groups are based at one of our sites, so the best starting point would be to get along to a Sunday meeting near you (we currently meet in Gorton, Fallowfield, Withington, Burnage and the City Centre) and get to know some people or chat to a site leader, who could introduce you to a group that would work for you.
Alternatively, you could drop us an email to hello@ccm.org.uk and let us know what area you live in and we could put you in touch with a group near you.
