The Full Assurance of Faith

19Therefore, brothers, since we have confidence to enter the holy places by the blood of Jesus, 20by the new and living way that he opened for us through the curtain, that is, through his flesh,

Hebrews written to people under pressure – persecution – suffering – perhaps even poverty – threat of death
There is pressure in all of life; pressure at work, relationships, finance, perhaps hurt by others, perhaps have hurt others, made mistakes, or tried to do the right thing and suffered
There is a temptation to walk away from Jesus, to subtly stop putting our confidence in him and start trusting in ourselves or others or even in finances or out giftings and abilities
Confidence in Jesus is a big faith step

Confidence in Jesus comes from forgiveness, brings us into family and lets us enter into the holy places.

Confidence in Jesus brings us into a new and living way,
In the early years of Christianity, Christians weren’t called Christians they were called followers of the way
Confidence to live the way of Jesus means living differently to the world around us
We can pray and hear from God, he will help us to live this new way, he sends the Holy Spirit to be with us.
Where does confidence come from? Forgiveness and togetherness and Presence and a New way of living
