The New Life
21assuming that you have heard about him and were taught in him, as the truth is in Jesus, 22to put off your old self, which belongs to your former manner of life and is corrupt through deceitful desires, 23and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds, 24and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness.
There are two aspects to our Godly identity, Personal and collective.
Our personal identity comes from the gifts of the spirit that God has equipped us with and from the prophecies, words and visions given to us by God through his word, and his prophets.
Our collective identity is that of our place as part of the body of the church, the bride of Christ, and children of God, Heirs to his promise.
When we accept Jesus our identity is instantly changed from condemned to exalted
WE need to actively choose to live in the new identity, not remain in the old
