I am the True Vine
16You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should abide, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name, he may give it to you. 

 

KEY POINTS

Where do We Find Our Significance?

  • It may be in a job, being the best or in family that we look for significance.
  • The Bible tells us that we are significant to Jesus.
  • We were chosen by God, in order to work with him to unite the World to him.

Where do We Find Our Security?

  • We may look to money, to family or to ourselves to make us feel safe.
  • The Bible tells us we are safe and secure in Jesus.
  • There is no condemnation for those who are in Christ and nothing can separate us from his love.

Where do We Find Our Acceptance?

  • We can try to be accepted by being clever, looking good and being successful.
  • The Bible tells us that we are fully accepted in Jesus.
  • We have been adopted as God’s children, we belong to him. We have peace with God and our sins have been forgiven.
