BIBLE VERSES
This sermon was based on Mark 10:15
Let the Children Come to Me
15Truly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child shall not enter it.”
KEY POINTS
Trust Like a Child
To accept the kingdom of God we need child like trust. To believe that it is as simple as accepting Jesus’ sacrifice, with no fine print or T&Cs. As adults it is easy to follow the worlds teachings that “if it sounds too good to be true it probably is” and be distrustful of God’s generosity.
Depend Like a Child
The trust needed to accept the kingdom is also needed when it comes to living in faith. God has promised to provide, yet as adults we forget our childish impulse to rely on someone else, determined to meet our own needs, turning to God only as a last resort.
Be Free Like a Child
We are also commanded to share the message of the kingdom, but social pressure, and fear of standing out can inhibit us, where children are more concerned with what they feel matters than with the opinions other people have about them which makes them freer to act.
