Safeguarding at Christ Church Manchester
At Christ Church Manchester we believe that Church should be a place where every child and every adult can feel safe and be safe, but this doesn’t happen by accident. This is why we have people at every site and in every ministry who we call safeguarding leads.
The safeguarding leads make sure that there are policies and procedures in place which we follow, such as carrying out DBS checks and providing safeguarding training for all our volunteers who are working with children and vulnerable adults.
Our leadership team has overall responsibility for safeguarding, but we can’t do this on our own. We need your help too. If you see or hear something that makes you feel uncomfortable, please report your concern even if it seems small. You can do that by speaking to the safeguard lead at your site or by getting in touch with one of the senior safeguard leads. To record concerns, we use a system called My Concern. This system allows anyone responsible for the protection of children, young people, and adults at risk to easily manage and record all safeguarding and wellbeing concerns.
Safer places are not difficult to create if we all play our part. So, let’s make Church safer for everyone!
