UPDATE RE. LIFTING OF LOCKDOWN

I am sure you are probably aware of the latest announcements from the government this week regarding bringing the country out of lockdown.
One of the announcements made was that places of worship may open again from July 4th, albeit with restrictions – including no singing, no food/drink, and complying with other government guidance that should be made available soon.
Last night the elders met to talk about what this means for CCM.
Over the coming weeks we will be able to outline a more concrete plan, but as many are starting to ask questions, we wanted to share a bit of our thinking.
1. Restarting public Sunday meetings when we can. We are currently in conversations with our venues about their plans for re-opening and looking at what type of Sunday meeting might be feasible. There are lots of variables to consider and each venue that CCM uses is different. Our aim is to start these again at the different sites over the course of the Summer. We will keep you informed as the situation develops.
2. Encouraging In-Person Fellowship. In accordance with the guidelines, there is now scope to meet up with other members of the church for picnics, walks, barbecues, etc. To the extent you feel comfortable doing so, think about who you can spend time with in this way – and keep an eye out for members of your site and/or community group who may be lonely and isolated at this time. Another idea would be to start meeting up with a few others to watch our online services together – as a way of experiencing in-person fellowship around these services.
3. Continuation of Online Church. We are aware that for some people, moving straight back to in-person services is not possible for various reasons. We will continue to offer online services every Sunday as well as in-person services at least for the rest of this year, and possibly beyond.
We are aware that this is a fast-moving situation and will keep you up to speed with the latest developments as they happen.
